Shirley is a DAS qualified instructor who joined the team a few years ago and has helped many students start out on their motorcycling career. Her calm and highly professional manner makes her an invaluable member of the school. She has a keen interest in off road and adventure riding and has achieved great things in mountains of Wales and the deserts of Morocco. Shirley has trained with Patsy Quick, the lady Paris/Dakar finisher, and also 7 times Dakar finisher Simon Pavey. Shirley thinks nothing of powering up 60 metre high sand dunes in the Sahara Desert!!
Clive joined in September 2017 as a CBT Instructor, with a view to becoming a DAS Instructor later in 2018.
He has been riding motorcycles for the last 30 years in which time he has gained a great deal of knowledge. Clive is also member of The Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists.
For the last few years Clive has been organising and running Motorcycle tours around the UK & Europe Switzerland, France & Italy. He brings this knowledge with him enabling us to now offer UK and European Motorcycle Tours!
Rob is a DAS qualified instructor with a vast experience of motorcycling having both worked as a courier in London and as a motorcycle instructor in the Cambridge area. He has also enjoyed success at club racing.
Graham is a DAS instructor and member of Suffolk Institute of Advanced Motorcyclists. He is a full member of the IAM and has attained their highest level of qualification as is now on the IAM F1RST register and has also achieved accreditation status with the MCIAC. Graham has an extensive background in teaching within the higher education engineering field and has excellent communication skills. He has an ability to explain complicated concepts in a very clear way and this coupled with his natural attentiveness makes him a very successful and talented instructor.
Rob is a DAS qualified instructor and has worked with IRT for several years.
He has excellent communication skills and coupled with his relaxed, but professional approach, make him a popular choice for students at all levels. Rob’s pass rate at full test level is excellent.
When not teaching Rob enjoys track days and the racing scene.
Justin started riding motorbikes at 16. Not long after he gained his full licence and has now been riding for over 32 years. He enjoys trips out exploring local and not so local areas; loading up the bike and taking off for a few days at a time with overnight camps off the beaten track.
Justin joined SRT in September 2021 to train as an instructor as he wanted to pass his passion for biking and his knowledge and experience onto others, so they too can enjoy the freedom and exhilaration that motorcycling brings.
Rob gained his full licence with our school a number of years ago. His passion for biking continued and he then did the Safe Rider and Biker Down courses with Suffolk Police. After that he joined Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclist (SAM), taking his advanced test (IAM) and then becoming a Ride Leader/Coordinator. Enjoying biking greatly and wishing to share that enthusiasm with others Rob moved on again and did further training and for the last 3 years has been an IAM Observer with SAM. He currently have owns a Kawasaki Z1000sx performance and a Victory Vegas 1600 v/twin.
David was introduced to the world of motorcycles at a very early age, by his father, who used to do motorcycling scrambling. As soon as he was old enough, he started riding, passing his motorcycle test at 17. Many years and bikes later, and he earned his ‘Institute of Advanced Motorists’ IAM, Motorcycle qualification. He moved on to be an IAM Observer and Ride Leader, for the local IAM group, Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists. You will find he is always happy to talk bikes and pass on his many years of experience.
Glyn comes to us with a great wealth of biking experience – over 50 years in the saddle. About 10 years ago he passed his Institute of Advanced Motorcycles test and then for the last 3 years he has been a local observer for the Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists (SAM). He has also experienced track days and pre 65 trials. – He clearly loves motorbiking!
Max has a real passion for biking. Ever since he could walk and talk he has been with a motorbike. He first rode when he was about 10 and did his CBT as soon as he was 16. Then he progressed through all the stages of A1, and A2 and achieving his full A class licence and the earliest possible age of 21. He has had several European biking holidays riding through France and Spain. In Spain he also did a off-road session in the Andalucian mountains
As soon as he had his licence for the required time he started training to be a motorbike instructor realising a key passion of being able to share his love for biking with others and introducing them to this fun and exciting experience.
Mark has been a motorcycle instructor since 2016, before that he served in the Royal Navy as a Clearance Diver for 9 years, then joined the Fire Service in Northumberland, eventually transferring to Suffolk Fire & Rescue serving at Fleixstowe and Colchester road (Headqaurters). After retiring he studied at Essex University gaining a degree in Music performance (guitar) and still teaches music occasionally. "Motorbikes well i've had lots, my first in 1978 a Yamaha FS1E (fizz bomb) and basically have always had one, it's my little bit of freedom, other things i enjoy are my pets - 4 dogs all rescue and 2 cats".
Kevin started riding mopeds around fields at 8 years old and has been riding bikes ever since. As a TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship) member he has ridden many byways in England and Wales but his biggest thrills have come from riding 500cc speedway bikes at Mildenhall and King’s Lynn.
Kevin’s previous training experience includes 8 years with Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists, helping people pass their IAM Advanced test in his role as National Observer.
Simon is a local Suffolk lad and has been interested in motorbikes and rdiing since he was 16. He currently works part time instructing with us and part time on a farm. recently he has started taking an interesting in touring on his Africa Twin, and last summer he had his first tour around the Lakeland Loop in the Lake District.
He has a relaxed & friendly, but professional approach to his teaching.
Luke has been a DAS qualified instructor since 2017 and has a calm, positive approach to teaching.
He began riding motorcycles as a child and went on to achieve his full licence with us, back in 2007.
Luke enjoys the freedom and excitment of the open road, riding around scenic country lanes and the welcoming biker community. He wants you to enjoy it too.
Nigel came to motorcycling late on in life, having spent a couple of years driving a trike which he bought in Germany. Realising that there was a lot more fun to be had on a motorbike, he passed his test in 2006 and shortly afterwards he joined Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists [SAM] passing his advanced test 2006. He has travelled abroad to see the Dutch Assen MotoGP on his bike several times, and France as well. He currently owns two naked bikes, which gives him the “maximum grin factor”. He also enjoys going out on charity motorcycle rides to raise money for things such as the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Ride to the Wall [RTTW].
After a successful career in both the construction industry & IT, he spends his time sharing his experience & passion for motorcycling with his students, so that they too can enjoy the benefits and pleasure of this form of transport.
